AI, Originality, and What We’re Trying to Do Here
by Cary and Patty ~ My Simply Sage
AI is everywhere these days, so we thought we’d tell you how we use it here at My Simply Sage.
Sitting here this morning drinking my tea and reading the news, I came across some information about how AI is grabbing information from just about everywhere, and then someone is using that information to produce content on the web.
What bothered me was the idea that some web creators aren’t really creating anything—just taking information from somebody else’s work and reorganizing it into something for a website. No credit given anywhere for the work others have done.
At My Simply Sage, we are trying to make a different place.
A site where regular people can come to read about something they would like to learn. Find out about a new gadget. Or just spend a few minutes looking at something and say, “I can relate to that. I’ve been there. Maybe, yep, that’s a great simple idea.”
And just maybe, help somebody have a little different day than they might have had otherwise.
Do we check things on the web? Sure, because we definitely do not want to put any bogus information out there.
Do we give credit where credit is due? We sure will.
We do not want to steal someone else’s work or glory. Not on your life. We wouldn’t like it if someone did it to us. If we happen to relate a story about someone else or their experience, we will definitely be pointing that out.
AI helps us research, check facts, organize, and clean up the writing. But the experiences, judgments, mistakes, opinions, humor, that’s all ours. Nobody else’s.
We are going to be putting a lot of our life and experiences on My Simply Sage. If it just happens to be similar to someone else’s experience, so be it. We never intended to copy.
And believe us, stealing or copying someone else’s stuff is not our intention, nor will it ever be. What we have done and experienced is just us.
Nobody else.
So, in your wandering through our site, please try and remember: We only want to help make your life simpler and happier, if possible.
Now, back to the tea.
Simple is not where you start, simple is where you arrive!
